An ultimate week of adventure in the desert slot canyons of the Southwest. Through our week of adventure, we'll explore the in's and out's of Zion National Park and the canyons that surround this amazing location. You'll have a chance to stand on Angel's Landing, explore the narrows, and canyoneer through remote Water Canyon.
This is a travel day. Upon arrival to Zion, we'll settle in to our camping area and go through a brief orientation of the park and the surrounding town of Springdale. Free time will be given for shopping and visiting time at the local art galleries and photography studios. Sitting around the campfire that evening, we'll receive a brief orientation for our week of adventure.
DAY 2:
Today we'll venture into the park for a day of exploration. We'll start our morning hiking the steep trail to Angel's Landing. This 2.5 mile trail places us 1500 miles above the valley floor on an amazing viewpoint. The last hundred yards is an optional hair raising climb along chains to the final viewpoint. After lunch at the top, we'll back down for a detailed tour of the park including the Weeping Wall and the Emerald Pools.
DAY 3:
After a big breakfast, we'll head into the park for a day at the Zion Narrows. At the back end of Zion National Park, the Virgin River carves out a dramatic path through the sandstone forming a narrow canyon. We're allowed access to the lower portion of this amazing formation, free to walk through the river alongside the cliffs in what National Geographic describes as the number one hike in the world. Time will be given to pause for reflection in this memorable spot. After this full day of adventure, we'll be ready for the dinner that awaits us back at our camp.
DAY 4:
Today, we move our camp for a canyoneering descent outside the park boundaries at beautiful Water Canyon. This water carved canyon hosts many beginner canyoneers and will serve as our canyon of choice for multiple rappels ranging from 50 feet to 200 feet. We'll cover all the basics of the sport during two days of adventure in this amazing canyon.
DAY 5:
Our canyoneering adventure continues as we venture back into water canyon for a descent of the lower half of this beautiful canyon. As we complete our journey through this sinuous canyon, we'll take pause and appreciate the forces that worked to form this amazing spot.
DAY 6:
On our final full day, we'll head back into the park for a visit to the Court of the Patriarch's and the mouth of Hidden Canyon on the East Rim. These locations will treat our eyes to one last day of this amazing national park. A final farewell dinner around the campfire will finish off our week of adventure.
DAY 7:
This is a travel day. We'll awaken this morning for a red cliff sunrise and after a hearty breakfast, we'll pack up our bags to head out of town.
