A complex lens manufacturing process encapsulates the Glare 86 film into the SR-91 lens material, forming a bond so strong that the lens is guaranteed for life against cracking or splitting of the lens at drill-mounts, or delamination of the inner polarizing film and the lens material.

SR91 Lenses / Lens Comparison

Kaenon introduced polarized SR-91 as the answer to all of the shortcomings of existing polarized lenses. Glass is heavy and shatters, CR-39 is brittle and not impact-resistant, while polycarbonate offers a dull view and scratches easily. SR-91 was tested in independent labs and confirmed to be the only polarized lens that offers razor-sharp clarity, impact-resistance and glare-reduction all in one ultra-lightweight and durable lens. All of the good. None of the bad. But our testing doesn't stop there. LIGHT TRANSMISSION CONTROL (LTC™)

Not content with creating an entirely new lens material, Kaenon continues to advance polarized eyewear with groundbreaking LTC technology. LTC technology is a combination of Kaenon's proprietary Light Transmission Levels (LTL®) and the science behind the exclusive design of our lens tints. Kaenon's own select lens tints - Grey, Copper or Yellow - combine with each LTL to optically enhance, tune and improve visibility in any weather condition, activity or time of day.

Every Kaenon frame is inspired by our active California lifestyle. Incorporating specific geometry to maximize comfort and function, paying attention to flex-zones and measuring the load on pressure points are only a few of the details we pay attention to so that each frame feels as good as it looks. Our renowned product designer, Harald Belker, works meticulously to incorporate function into the design of every frame shape and style in a way that flows harmoniously to give our frames a distinct look and evoke the spirit of Kaenon. Frame Construction / Frame Materials

Our attention to detail goes right down to the screw that's used in the hinges of each pair of Kaenon glasses. If a hinge doesn't exist that's just right for the glasses we create, we design one that compliments the style and performance intended of that frame. We specify only the best materials for our glasses - stainless steel to prevent hinges from corroding, or our hydrophilic Variflex rubber that is embedded into the temple tips or nose bridge for slip-free security in any arena. When designing a frame from the ground up, we realize that we have every opportunity to make it just as it should be.

Every Kaenon frame is styled with unique colorways inspired by our authentic California lifestyle. From the evening sunsets, to the kelp in the ocean where we play, to the sand-etched finishes of beach glass strewn across the sand, each color is representative of the diversity of life that we love.
