Project Fifty-Nine (P59) : In November of 2007, we opened the first
P59 in Long Beach, CA, followed by 4 additional
P59 shops in California and Arizona.
Why the name Project Fifty-Nine? From day-one, we all called this endeavor "The Project." Fifty-Nine was added to give a shout out to our Founder, Norbert Olberz, who launched Sport Chalet in 1959 as one little shop in La Canada, CA.
